Kai is one of the of the best longboarders of his generation, with a smooth but radical style in any conditions. Ever-curious with an obsessive attention to detail, he brings an analytical approach to his surfing and designs. Kai has been instrumental in testing and providing feedback for our single fin range, so releasing a fin design together was a no brainer! Kai was searching for a fin template that would have better control than your average longboard fin in surf of the 3-5ft range, particularly when the waves are more powerful. He needed something that would release with control, when other fins would tend to spin out. This fin also works great in 1-2ft surf where there’s draw off the bottom and a bit more juice in the wave, pivoting well and providing excellent noseriding control.

Ozzy has been a dear friend of Wild Things since day one, He has been surfing our hybrid keel for the last few years and loving it in a variety of board shapes. When we talked about doing a fin he didn’t want to change too much. Ozzy is one of our all-time favorite surfers and hugely influential in surfing culture and we could not be more stoked that the hybrid fin is shooting rainbows.
The hybrid twin finds that sweet spot between the drive and speed of a keel and the loose responsive feel of an upright twin. This fin has medium area and a flat inside foil, perfect if you’re looking to loosen up a traditional fish or to add some drive and speed to a fun-shape or performance twin. It will also totally change the way your regular shortboard surfs. A modern keel fin fine tuned for performance surfing with glide and flow.
